Yeah, it is. USB 3.0 is not that big of a step up from USB 2.0 so those that really need the extra bandwidth will not bother with it and go straight to Thunderbolt. Simple as that. Leave your rinky dink Toys R Us low bandwidth peripherals to USB and leave the big boy peripherals to Thunderbolt.

Yes, murder them all. Just tonight as I was driving by a McDonalds, three corporate execs ran out, caught me at a red light, and forced a Big Mac down my throat. Thank god I didn't drive by the Krystal's, too - those soggy little gut bombers would have put a hurting on me.

I know in my home state its like 7.9 percent and most of the jobs are health care and IT - no industrial, no customer service, nothing else.

I don't see why everybody mad at Apple, Samsung's products do look like iPhone, iPad rip-offs. They look very identical so I can understand why Apple is doing it. Force these other companies to be more creative. I don't know how many times I've seen my friends walk around with other devices such as these and the question they get asked the most is "is that an iPhone?", "can I see it?".

Here is one "From business and personal productivity software to travel apps and games, we have the best mobile downloads to fit every interest."

LOL @ all the people claiming Microsoft is dead. I mean, seriously? They were $76 million worse off from Apple and according to most people on this forum, Microsoft aren't pulling their socks up and trying and innovating anymore. Yea, I know what you mean. Apple needs to get on the ball with that already. They have been shipping dual core machines for a while yet OS X cant truly take advantage of it. Since intel will be using more cores as time goes by it only makes sense for OS X and it's apps to be able to harness the full power of all the cores/processors. I really really hope thats what they have planned for Leopard. Maybe its one of the " Super Secret Features" ??? :rolleyes:
I think that Apple is still working on a gamer machine. I can only assume tat it will be Mac Pro based or a new enclosure. They currently do not support SLI (need support), are using buffered memory (slow), and needs to be user upgradable. I think it is coming but not untl some time next year.
Open GL suporting multiple cores and multiple GPU power agregation is likely to be the ticket so insane performance that blows the rest. But I think it will wait until Leopard to be released. I am sure the next revision 10.4.8 will take us part of the way, but multi cpu, multi-package, multicores are comming. In Jan we should see 2 Quad cores in the Mac Pro and an even better dual Quad in summer. Only Leopard will be able to unleash the power.

I'm still loving mine too :) I did, however, just put it up for sale on CL though. Just to see if I get any bites. I'm not going to worry if I do or don't sell it though. It's still an amazing machine

It seems to me that by "MB" he did not bean "MacBook" as is the most common use of these two letters, but "Mother Board" which makes perfect sense, covers all Yonah macs and is perfectly true. Disregarding the soldering issue of the 'books, which is a different point.
I'm a convert from the PC mob and whenever I see MB I automatically think of "Main Board" as well.

The cost of litigation would not even remotely approached 100 million. The cost of losing (ie, having a judgement against apple), now that would have probably exceeded 100 million. When a company is not sure about it's position, the best thing is to settle. You don't see IBM settling their Linux suit, do you?. And SCOunix hasn't even paid close to 100 mil in lawyers fees yet and they are fighting a losing battle..
I think you are seriously underestimating how expensive these type of patent battles can be. Check out the following story:

It is quite clear that Apple would have made life very, very expensive and excruciating for Creative's legal team. $100 million in legal costs is not unrealistic considering that you not only had the original suit, but countersuits by Apple involving 4 bonafide patents.
