Apple is going to have a serious backlog of orders, I think. I know I'm buying the upcoming MBP. This waiting does suck, though.
However, I have seen Apple release products silently on Monday, Tuesday, AND Wednesday, so there's a possibility, albeit extremely slight, that we could see something tomorrow. Next week looks more likely. :|

I fall into the "who cares" category.
If someone wants to waste their time figuring out where I've been... have a ball! I might be concerned if I was a drug lord, or cereal murderer (Die! Captain Crunch, die!). :) But since I'm just a software guy... again, who cares?
P.S. Snap, Crackle and Pop... you're next!

YES! Finally, I reap benefits from being with Cingular!!!! :D
Meh, I know, bitter doesn't go my shoes, but ... heh
It's the second or third carriers' customers that will benefit from all of the weird things that all of you early adopters will help discover. ;)
Or at least that's how it's worked here at Verizon. By the time RIM gets around to releasing a CDMA BlackBerry version of a device, all of the bugs are pretty well worked out.

I understand the concept of all this, but what if you're in a place with bad reception (or no WiFi for users without an iPhone)? I don't think that I'll be switching to an all-cloud storage service any time soon.
I do not think that is the plan. I believe the service will allow you to download your songs as well. It just gives you the option to go to the cloud if / when needed.

It's a mess to open up the iMac and take the heatsink/CPU assembly off. Even I think it's scary.
haha I never said I'd attempt it, just that its possible :D

NI am, however, starting to see why they allowed a sneak preview of iTV. Look how many of us are saying "I can't wait for iTV!" now that we've had some time to experiment with iTunes movie downloads!
Yes, we're all looking forward to a product to come out in 3 or 4 months that will actually make the product they released last week bearable!
Brilliant!!

If a few people on MacRumors find me to be childish, I really couldn't care less. Believe me, what you guys think of me is not going to ruin my chances of getting into an Ivy League school, or from becoming a successful adult.

No, you'll ruin them well enough on your own.

I think we'll see the New C2D MacBook's appear on the Apple.com homepage on the 19th, and the following Monday at the event, Apple will announce the New MacBook Pro's with the MacBook style keyboard, and the magnetic latch. As the MacBook Pro is wider, it will get very light magnets at either end of the displays too, to hold it neatly shut.
I doubt we'd see the MB first, since that really wouldn't make any sense.
I think we'll just see the MBP as a press release update sometime between now and this event, and then probably an Aperture update at the event, possibly along with other software stuff.
MB updates will probably be some time after.

I'll think about it. I think it's covered by "video to tv via dvi>hdmi cable for hdtv or analogue connection for sdtv". Which you obviously missed?
Try looking at the pic again. And read the stuff. All of it.
Read my previous post :)

OMG! Are you kidding me. This is outrageous.
You mean that my phone has been tracking all my comings and goings. Like how everyday I go to work, pick up the kids from daycare and take them home. Rinse and repeat. You mean there is a file with all those boring stats of my not so secret life. And to think next week I was planning on varying it up a bit. Maybe stopping off at acquire the essential items I need for my new job as a "cleaner" on my way to get the kids.
/end sarcasm/
The only people who will get bent about this are the ones who have no reason to be.

I doubt we'll see some headless tower (apart from the macpro) i honestly don't think its in apple's interest to openup a new price point. Mac mini provides a nice entry for windows users, people wanting something next to their tv, or have the monitor etc already. MacBook provides mobile low end. iMac allows a bit more power and features over the mini for home users wanting a bit more and companies and people who dont need the power of the Mac Pro. MacBook Pro is high end portable allowing for graphics, photography, design, etc, and to some extent gaming on the go. The Mac Pro is the beast, a workstation more than a desktop and therefore is over specced for the normal user. But why put in a new model in between a imac and a mac pro when having the gap forces people looking for more than an imac to go for the mac pro and increase revenue. By creating an 'in between' model it takes sales away from the popular imac and the expensive mac pro, would probably have to have lower margins to get people to buy it and would just float about in the middle. Maybe die a fate similar to the cube? I don't see it being a smart move.

According to certain sources it says Apple retail store are staying through the night to change out advertisements and such.
I don't understand why they would make a big deal about this unless they were releasing a major update such as a product re-design or big change. When has a spec update caused retail stores to have people work through the night?
Is this routine with any spec update @ retail stores?

Ok, this I honestly didn't see, and if true, then warrants a serious reprimand of any organisation at Mac Expo!! I hope that the reason they were ejected was something like this, and not just handing out leaflets in the wrong area, like I was led to believe from the thread so far!
I wouldn't like anyone taking photos of my child without permission, and if true then Greenpeace have behaved irresponsibly!
But that could also mean that someone took a photo of a baby with an Apple with consent and that was chinese whispered by an anti-Greenpeace voice to, 'Yeah, y'know, I even saw them putting this apple in a kid's pram and...'
Here are the 'roudy violent millitants' we're talking about.

I hope that there will be a MacBook update- I ordered mine on the 24th and it said it would ship the 1st. I then got an email Monday telling me it would not ship until the 14th. Either I sm highly unlucky and they are way bhind or an update is in the works.

I'm amazed that so many people are basing their judgment of the "head shot" on 3rd person shooter games and CSI. In the real world, anyone with training will always be aiming for the center of mass, and where he actually hits depends more on luck than anything else.
In other words, just because the criminal was hit in the head, doesn't mean that the security guard was aiming for his head. A mall security guard with a pistol shooting at a moving target during a gunfight doesn't have the accuracy of a Marine sniper shooting a sniper rifle at a stationary target.
+1
Especially when ~40 shots were exchanged in the gunfight. It sounds like the guard was shooting to save his own life.
